Happy Mother's Day

Who comes to mind when you hear the word ‘Mom’?  I hope it accompanies a wave of warmth and peaceful sensations.  I do realize that not all experience share such an euphoric feeling – and if those feelings are justified, then this post is not about those mothers nor what Mother’s Day was created for.

Mother’s Day is for the honoring the mom’s out there that do deserve the praise of a job well done.  Many times, this job goes truly unappreciated until we have our own children. And then, even as busy parents, still don’t grasp what our moms sacrificed for our well-being.  That I believe is a life-long journey.

Mother’s Day is a day to recognize our mom’s patience as she juggled a life that she had come accustomed to before us – to the life she slowly realizes would demand 100% of her time and devotion. Perseverance and responsibility may start soon after conception but grows as the child grows from inside the mother to many years after her own children have grown and moved on from her.

This is what I have experienced – the older my children get… the more I respect the job of mothering my mother did for me and how it changed and adapted over the years.

And now I am lucky to have children and grandchildren of my own.  There is no greater joy than to be a mom… unless if it is to have had such a great mom myself!

Happy Mother’s Day!

My Love of Bugs...VW Bugs

My love of all cars started when I was a little kid... back when all cars were steel, glass, leather, rubber and little less. I still remember sitting in my dad's lap at 3... yes 3 and 'driving', while my mom screamed next to us! (That's probably really why the memory is so clear.)
One car that I have not yet owned, is the VW Beetle - loving known as the Bug! For me, it was love at first site and ride! It was so small and it had handles to hold on with!
So is 2019 the last year our beloved Beetle will be made? Sadly yes. But dealers are quick to respond, "They may return!" My bet is that they will someday!!
This painting is mainly a mix of watercolor and acrylics. I love the fluidness of watercolor especially for the sky and water, as well as in reflective tones!
I hope you enjoy this painting! It's one of my favorites!
Enjoy!

Hallelujah!

One of my latest paintings is entitled Hallelujah!!  I sometimes have trouble titling my works and, yes, sometimes I simply give a description of what the painting is of – but this painting screams to me, and this is what it says to me.

When you walk a path… seeing alluring bits and pieces of the grand view through the trees and other foliage… then you reach the pinnacle and are overtaken by a breathtaking perspective that only an enthusiastic cheer of jubilance to what Mother Nature has shared blanketing in front of you.

When you fill with elation… when your intoxicated with joy and want to scream that emotion to everyone in the universe!

It’s the moment when your whole body is weak from the struggle you just went through… and you raise up to your feet… fill your tired lungs with air… and yell a triumphant shout to the world “I MADE IT!!!”

Humbly most of us when surrounded by these euphoric moments in our lives, we are not shouting to pat ourselves on the back, but lifting our voice up in a song of praise to_____, you fill in the blank.  To the power that helps guide and give you direction… helps open the doors, warms your path with hope and new inspiration!

Enjoy Life!
